Stephen Curry entered the 2012-2013 season as the only player in NBA history with career percentages of at least .470 from the field, .440 from three-point range, and .900 from the foul line. He was the runner-up for the 2009-2010 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He was a First Team All-Rookie selection. He won the Taco Bell Skills Challenge at the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2011. He was a Gold Medalist at the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey. He has had a 54-point game. He made the most three-point field goals (272) in a single season in NBA history. Yet, for some baffling reason, Steph Curry has not been recognized as a superstar. Until last night.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Denver Nuggets 110-108 last night to take a 2-1 advantage in the series. Game 3 was probably the most exhilarating, stressful, and entertaining game of the series so far, and the Warriors showed the Nuggets why they have such a distinct home-court advantage at Oracle Arena. Even though the Warriors came away with a win, they still made several mistakes and almost gave the game away with about 21.5 seconds left in the game. Here are some takeaways from Game 3:

Throughout their playoff series against the Nuggets, there has been one consistent player for the Warriors: Klay Thompson. He has shown the ability to score when the Warriors are struggling offensively, he has hit timely shots, and he has scored at an efficient rate. In two playoff games so far, Thompson is averaging 21.5 points, 3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks on 60% shooting from the field and 63.6% shooting from the three-point line in 40 minutes per game.

The Golden State Warriors are going to the playoffs for the first time since 2007, and they’re making only their second playoff appearance in 19 seasons. Pablo Sandoval has battled weight issues his whole career. He’s never been characterized as “skinny” or “athletic,” but, at the beginning of his career, Sandoval was able to find a way to produce at a high level, despite his weight.
