With an 18-2 record, the Golden State Warriors are currently one of the top teams in the NBA. They haven’t yet won a championship like their fellow Bay Area team, the San Francisco Giants, but there are several similarities between these two teams.

SFG: Madison Bumgarner Named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year

Madison Bumgarner gets to add another award to his already impressive list of accomplishments in his MLB career.

Bumgarner was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year for 2014. This is the first time the 25 year-old left-handed pitcher has won the award.

SFG: San Francisco Giants Are the Favorites to Sign Pablo Sandoval

According to FOX Sports reporter Ken Rosenthal, the bidding for Pablo Sandoval has come down to two teams, the San Francisco Giants and the Boston Red Sox. Despite rumored interest from other MLB teams such as the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, and others, it appears extremely likely that Sandoval will sign with either the Giants or the Red Sox.

In recent history, the San Francisco Giants have been labeled as misfits, underdogs, warriors, and even cockroaches. The best label of them all though is World Series champions, a title that the San Francisco Giants have donned for three times in the past five years.

The San Francisco Giants have a chance to secure their third World Series title in five years tonight. Now back in Kansas City, the Giants will take on the Kansas City Royals tonight in Game 6 of the World Series, hoping to win their fourth game of the series and eliminate the Royals from contention.
