The Golden State Warriors have gone through some significant changes already this offseason. Right after their first round loss in the playoffs to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Warriors’ front office decided to fire Mark Jackson.

After his dismissal, passionate discussions ensued among Warriors fans about Mark Jackson’s coaching. Some fans thought that Jackson’s coaching and offensive philosophies weren’t right for the Warriors. Some fans thought that his personality wasn’t a good fit for the Warriors. Some fans thought he deserved to be fired because of his comments about homosexuality in the NBA.

Some fans thought that Jackson might have been fired because of his religious views. Some fans thought that since Jackson helped turn the Warriors franchise around, he deserved to remain as head coach. Some fans thought that it wasn’t smart to fire Jackson after the face of the franchise, Stephen Curry, was very vocal about his support for Jackson and his desire for Jackson to remain head coach.

San Francisco Giants: Are They on a Collision Course with Oakland?

The San Francisco Giants are currently the best team in all of MLB. They have a 42-22 record, and they’re currently leading their division by 8.5 games.The only team that comes close to the Giants’ .656 win percentage is the Oakland Athletics. The A’s have a 39-25 record, which equates to a .609 win percentage.

The Giants won World Series titles in 2010 and 2012, and the A’s won the AL West in 2012 and 2013. The Giants and A’s haven’t met in the World Series since 1989, but could the Giants and the A’s finally meet again in the 2014 World Series? It’s definitely a possibility.

Golden State Warriors: Festus Ezeli Cleared to Play

Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli missed all of last season while recovering from right knee surgery. Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group reported today that Ezeli has been cleared to play and that he expects to play in the Las Vegas Summer League next month.

2014 NBA Finals Prediction

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is tonight, and here’s my quick prediction on who will win the NBA title in 2014:

The San Antonio Spurs are a well-oiled machine, and they have home-court advantage this time around. The Heat have struggled on the road, and it’s incredibly hard for an NBA team to win a championship, let alone three in a row. The Spurs are great at finding a team’s weakness and taking advantage of it.

Manu Ginobili is stepping up, Tony Parker will be ready, and Tim Duncan will lead the Spurs to the NBA title that they let slip away last year. This is what the Spurs have prepared for all season, and they will do everything they can to rectify last year’s mistakes and win a championship this year.

Prediction: Spurs in 7

Andrew Bogut: “I Think I Can Do a Little More Offensively”

In his time with the Golden State Warriors, Andrew Bogut has solidified himself as the defensive stalwart that this team has desperately needed at the center position. Bogut led the Warriors this past season with 10 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game, and he finished 10th in the voting for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award. Bogut is the Warriors’ defensive anchor, and he sets the tone defensively with his dominating presence and his ability to set hard screens.

As important as Bogut is on defense, he hasn’t been utilized nearly as much on offense as he used to be when he was on the Milwaukee Bucks. In his best offensive year with the Bucks in 2009-2010, Bogut averaged 15.9 points and 13.2 field goal attempts per game on 52 percent shooting.

San Francisco Giants MLB Draft: Options for the 14th Pick

The San Francisco Giants have the 14th overall pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. This is the highest draft pick the Giants have had since 2009, when they selected Zack Wheeler with the sixth overall pick. They also landed Madison Bumgarner with the 10th pick in 2007 and Buster Posey with the 5th pick in 2008.

The MLB Draft will take place from June 5-7th, and it consists of 40 rounds. The Giants can certainly load up on prospects, but with their first-round pick, Brian Sabean and the Giants want to try to pick a future star.
