Fifth Outfielder

The fifth outfielder spot is Juan Perez’ battle to lose, given the fact that he impressed the Giants a lot in his second call-up with the team last season.
The Giants signed Tyler Colvin to compete with Perez, and Roger Kieschnick is getting some consideration too. Colvin and Perez are the two top candidates though, but Colvin hasn’t been able to play as much as Perez because of leg soreness. This has allowed Perez to shine.
In 28 at-bats so far, Perez is hitting .286 with a .394 OBP. On the other hand, Colvin has been limited to just nine at-bats, and he’s hit .222 with a .222 OBP.
Unless Colvin starts to light it up, Perez should win this position battle.
