Golden State Warriors Release 2014 NBA Summer League Schedule

The Golden State Warriors have announced their game schedule for the 2014 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Their first game is on Friday July 11th against the Charlotte Hornets, their second game is on Saturday July 12th against the Phoenix Suns, and their third game is on Monday July 14th against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Golden State Warriors have gone through some significant changes already this offseason. Right after their first round loss in the playoffs to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Warriors’ front office decided to fire Mark Jackson.

After his dismissal, passionate discussions ensued among Warriors fans about Mark Jackson’s coaching. Some fans thought that Jackson’s coaching and offensive philosophies weren’t right for the Warriors. Some fans thought that his personality wasn’t a good fit for the Warriors. Some fans thought he deserved to be fired because of his comments about homosexuality in the NBA.

Some fans thought that Jackson might have been fired because of his religious views. Some fans thought that since Jackson helped turn the Warriors franchise around, he deserved to remain as head coach. Some fans thought that it wasn’t smart to fire Jackson after the face of the franchise, Stephen Curry, was very vocal about his support for Jackson and his desire for Jackson to remain head coach.

Golden State Warriors: Festus Ezeli Cleared to Play

Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli missed all of last season while recovering from right knee surgery. Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group reported today that Ezeli has been cleared to play and that he expects to play in the Las Vegas Summer League next month.

Andrew Bogut: “I Think I Can Do a Little More Offensively”

In his time with the Golden State Warriors, Andrew Bogut has solidified himself as the defensive stalwart that this team has desperately needed at the center position. Bogut led the Warriors this past season with 10 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game, and he finished 10th in the voting for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award. Bogut is the Warriors’ defensive anchor, and he sets the tone defensively with his dominating presence and his ability to set hard screens.

As important as Bogut is on defense, he hasn’t been utilized nearly as much on offense as he used to be when he was on the Milwaukee Bucks. In his best offensive year with the Bucks in 2009-2010, Bogut averaged 15.9 points and 13.2 field goal attempts per game on 52 percent shooting.

Andre Iguodala was recently named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team for the 2013-2014 season. Iguodala became the first Golden State Warriors player to receive this honor since Nate Thurmond in 1971.

On Monday, Iguodala went on KNBR to discuss what this honor means to him, his thoughts on Mark Jackson, and his thoughts on the future of the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors had one of the best starting lineups in the NBA last season, but for the 2014-2015 season, what if the Warriors had a starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love, and Andrew Bogut?

Many fans are more than willing to trade David Lee in order to get Love, in the hopes that the Warriors could potentially win a title with Love. The Warriors have been connected to Love in trade rumors for a few seasons now, but the trade rumors have started up again.
